About Our Chapter

The Eta Theta Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta was originally founded in 1959 and was re-chartered in 2008 after being inactive for several decades.  Our chapter is small but we are actively involved with Better World Books and regularly attend the annual international convention.

    Membership Requirements


    Undergraduate Members:

    • Completed a minimum of two college English language or literature courses beyond freshman level English.
    • Minimum of a B average in English and in general scholarship (3.2 GPA or higher).
    • Completed three semesters of college course work.
    Graduate Members:
    • Enrolled in a graduate program in English, or as a specialization.
    • Completed at least six hours of graduate work.
    • Minimum grad point average of 3.3.
